Called me at my work number. Conserve collections at 866-459-8155. I have NO DEBT and a nearly perfect credit score. They wanted my birthdate and last 4 of my SS#. Said they mailed me a letter to some address at which I have never lived. I think this is a phishing scam.
Called at 1008 hrs. Was still asleep due to having a bad night with pain from cervical spine surgery. I looked up the number, found out who it was, and I called back at 11:00. It IS Conserve, a debt collection agency. If you aren't aware, calling an 800, 866...toll free number will unblock your phone and the recipient will be able to see your number. I asked the agent why they had called my number since we have NO DEBT. He said our number "does not generate a file" so someone within the company must have been "looking for someone at that number". He asked for personal information from me so he could "try to locate the file". I said, "You must be crazy. YOU (or someone at your company) called my number and you want to me to provide you with personally identifiable information so you can figure out why? Have you ever heard of phishing". He said he would, "Make an effort to remove my number from their files," and I responded that would be a good idea lest I join the multitude of class action suits against them for similar harassment." No mystery here...they are a high pressure, high profile, collection agency whose name and number lights up like a pariah on the internet.
Annoying calls all day every day.
I received a "Face Time" call, but did not answer. I was putting groceries away and it was an "unknown caller" and I do not answer unknown callers. No message was left.
