RCMP advise:
1. Collect as much information as possible about the caller.
2. Do not give out any information on yourself with regards to credit cards, etc.
3. Call your bank through a known number, like the one on the back of your card.
4. Verify the information you have collected from the alleged bank representative.
5. If the bank can not verify the information, then report the caller to the appropriate authorities bank, RCMP, Canadian Anti-Fraud Bureau.
The most important thing to understand is never give personal information unless you have initiated the phone call to a known and trusted bank number (back of Credit Card).
The scammers are the ones posting to this blog and others saying "Pay your bills!" or some other phrase to that effect.
They are not legitimate TD employees. They may have some information about you, but not all your information. Some other "Blog" sites have postings from the "SCAMMERS" with very poor grammar.
