Did a web search for Cox Communications customer service number, for help with a technical issue. This came up, so I called. Normally calling Cox you go thru an automated menu, but a man answered after right away. I could barely understand him through his thick accent, he proceeded to ask me questions about where I live, and if I am calling about a house or an apartment. When I asked why he needed this info, that it should be on file on my account, he said he couldn't open my account if he didn't have all my info.. That didn't seem right to me, but he argued with me about it, and I then tried to pitch me on some sale. I reminded him that I had a technical issue, he said he was with the sales department & would try to help. After that, I was not at all comfortable talking to this man & asked to be transferred to a customer service rep.. Well of course he couldn't do that, and tried to pitch something to me again, at that point I just hung up. If this is not a scam number, I'm shocked at how Cox is doing their over the phone business.
