This is a SCAM. People call you from this number and pretend to be HP support and then they convince you to allow a remote connection and then they hijack your computer. Wants iTunes gift cards. STOP HANG UP!!!

On 02 Feb 2018 (@4pm PST), i received a call from unknown number "V20319005600005". As the number looks like a scam, I haven't attended the call. Again i received a call from similar number "V20614265000005" (06 Feb 2018 @ 11:30am PST). This time i attended the call! The person on call is a male and asked me "ARE YOU ?". I said YES. Immediately he disconnected the call. The caller accent sounds like an Asian. Then i call back to the same number (V20614265000005) and hear an automatic message from HP center and look at my calling screen and realized the call redirected to "866-756-0309" not the phone number starts with V20#. I browse my call history and called back the previous number (V20319005600005) and it also redirected me to same HP center number (866-756-0309). Btw, i don't use HP products.

In short,
V20319005600005 --- > 866-756-0309 ---> SUSPECTED CALL
V20614265000005 --- > 866-756-0309 ---> SUSPECTED CALL

I understand that the caller gathered my name and phone number. No idea what is he going to do with my name and phone number.

A men called and said he had seen virus harming my computer but did not tell me my name. He said his name is James Wilson with a Indian accent and told me not to touch my computer. Do not trust him. He did not give me a rep number.

Called me claiming to be from HP, following up on a recent warranty repair. Not my computer, but a CLIENT'S computer, which WAS just serviced under warranty.

In other words, they had IMMEDIATELY RECENT information connecting my client's JUST SERVICED laptop with MY phone number. If this is a hack, it is an ongoing breach, either HP, Service Management Solutions, which apparently does the HP repairs, or FedEx/UPS, which are BOTH listed on the return tracking label. (?!)

For future reference, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with ANY phone call, website, or pop-up window offering computer support. I am an IT consultant, this stuff is rampant. TRUST NO ONE. Question even this advice.

They told me I have a malicious virus on my computer and I need to let them remotely access it. They have been calling 3-4 times a day before I finally answer d. I said I would take it to the store and he yelled fine and hung up on me.

Has called more than once, claiming to be HP technician. Claims my HP laptop has reported to their "network" of having problems or downloading malicious files. However, this person knew the model of (old) HP laptop I have; but doesn't know that laptop stopped working months ago. I'm thinking they find the model and other information from online (such as where i posted an ad asking for someone to repair the MOBO, but i don't remember citing the model number there but maybe?). Otherwise, they've hacked HP and stolen customer data and model numbers. Wasn't HP hacked a while back??
