Synchrony bank credit debt collections, repeatedly leaves voice messages

I got two calls and returned the call to the number provided. I was disconnected. I went to Amazon and the account showed a credit in my favor, nothing owed. I cancelled the card. It had never been activated in the first place. Now, I called Amazon and they said the card had been used once and they connected me to Synchrony. They asked for all the usual data which I refused to provide. I gave them only my name. They disconnected also. I do not see any way to follow up. They do not send paper statements. I never activated the card so was shocked that it had been used.

This number has called every day, for the past few days. Recorded voice said it is Synchrony Bank re Amazon.com card. They do not ask for anyone by name. Just says to give them a call, or you can go to their website www.synchbank.com/amazon, or address is 170 West Election Road, then call is cut off. I called the number today and got a recorded voice. It said it had matched my phone number with my account and asked for the last four digits of my social security number. No name of who they want this info from. I am certainly not giving out my SS#.

They call my cell phone repeatedly and do not leave a message. They do a lot of back to back calls, sometimes less than 30 seconds between calls.

It calls on past due accounts. If account is past due, they advance your due date to the next month. Min payment increases. Even with new due date the system bugs you until you pay. The representive was very helpful but could not stop the calls until a partial payment or post dated auto payment was made. Blocked!
