They asked me to pay an amount owing for a UPS tracking number. I contacted UPS directly myself using the customer service number on their website and the agent looked up the tracking number and said that there is nothing owing on the shipment and i had already paid it months ago.

I am in Canada. Received the automated call with the account number. I went directly to UPS website and called their service number. They verified the account, name and that the account is owing. It is legit.

Received the robo call today. Caller ID was 866-836-4875. Said something like “This is an important message from UPS." and "Please transfer this call to the Accounts Payable department.” I hung up at that point and checked my UPS account and all invoices were paid, confirming that it is a total scam.

They called me. I thought it was a scam, so I called UPS directly, and gave them the same tracking number that was quoted on the phone. They had a record of us owing the same amount that the phone call claimed, and it was in-fact unpaid. I asked the UPS rep why this wasn't showing up on our account, and she said that it wasn't set up on our account because it was shipped on the other persons account, and was hence, never tied to mine. I typically pay for things at the door, but apparently the credit card didn't process (their drivers don't carry electronic machines). If it is in fact a scam, and I doubt it is, they have all the correct info about this particular shipment.

Automated/recorded message claiming we have an unpaid invoice, provided a bogus account number, a number to call (570-969-3360) and an email address TSCHOEPFER@UPS.com to contact for resolution. The computer voice used military phonetics to spell out the email address, T=Tango, etc.

I received a call from 866-836-4875. The caller ID came up as UPS freight. The recorded message gave me a phone number to call, 570-969-3360 or email TSCHOEPFER@UPS.COM, to follow up on an unpaid invoice for our account #07032771. We don't have a UPS account. Always check first, better safe than sorry.

I just received the same as above individuals. It was so easy to just type in the telephone number in the Google search bar to find out that this was a scam.

this is a scam. I git the same call saying that i have unpaid fee and asked me for my credit card number. But i never trusted and instead I call UPS customer service and they confirmed that it was a scamer.

Claims I have a UPS account past due. I contacted UPS direct, not the number that they wanted me to cal and they confirmed that this is a scam. Figured it was since I do not have a UPS account.
