I got a call this morning at home before 9am. The caller wanted donations for care packages to service persons in Afganistan. When I said, "no thank you", he started in like a hard sell salesman. I told him I had been polite and he should stop. but he did not. I screamed at him, "no, no, no' and before I hung up the phone in his ear I stated, "do not call".
This phone number is to the Foundation for American Veterans. Yeah right!
I have never heard of them. When I called this number back, they didn't even mention a web site.
How many people, especially the elderly, are getting taken by this scam?

came home last night and had 5 missed calls from this number plus one answered by sister within a 2 hour period.

I was just called by them and they admitted that they do an 80/20 split on monies raised. They keep 80% Vets get 20%. I with types like this could be arrested for larceny by trick. I hate a con man. Always check with http://www.charitynavigator.org/ before falling for this kind of tug at your heartstrings thievery.

I spoke to them today. They are the Foundation for American Veterans. They are requesting donations between 20 to 40 dollars for their organization. http://www.fav.org/
