This is from a company called Securus Tech. They handle collect calls from county jails. It's about 10.00 charge on my cell phone NOT including what the jail may also charge so be aware. So if you get this call, you may possibly have someone in there trying to reach you.

Received 62 calls to my cell from this number in a 5 hours. Pre-recorded message stating about charges to accept call. I will be calling my cell provider to try to block this at the source.

Received a call from this number asking for $9.99 charge to accept call from inmate.

Listen you morons, you're collective brain power is pathetic. Those urging you here to answer these calls have some sort of interest in perpetuating the scam. That's the way it works best on brain-dead morons. If any of you did anything to check this out for real, it wouldn't take you 5 minutes to figure out which end was up and who was screwing whom.

Each State's Correctional Department or Department of Criminal Justice has its own strict set of rules for phone contact between inmates and outsiders, and Correctional Billing Services (CBS), the business that is calling you, is not an official part of any of these state correction institution phone contact systems. They are a real business providing third party prepaid phone services whose services are regularly abused by many inmates to make random contact with the public. CBS does provide a contact point for having your number blocked from these types of calls. Call 1-800-844-6591 and request that your number be blocked from any calls made from prison inmates. If you're lucky, they may actually get your number blocked.

Any unsupervised phone contact between a correctional facility inmate and the public is limited to those inmates who have already been convicted of a crime, are not on death row, or otherwise specially restricted and are able to make phone calls according to the State's strict set of rules. Therefore, if you are getting a call that is legitimate, you should already know this caller is in jail, who they are and where they are. You can't get a legitimate call from them unless you are on their approved visitation list, have registered your number with the Correctional Department of your State, and you have proven that you personally own the phone number you register and that it is not a cell phone. This number called in the middle of the night... my mother just hung it up. we called back this morning and were led to 8662296829 and got no where. scam is the only thing that makes sense
