That number shows up on caller id, yet my phone is set to NOT allow incoming or outgoing calls - I use it for data only and set it up to not allow any calls or messages - something very fishy
Stupid people have called me every few hours for days, never leave a message, I don't know the number so I'm not answering!
Calls several times, never leaves message
Just received an automated call from this number stating they were National Grid. Was asked for last 4 digits of SS# and phone number associated with my account to verify account. Typed it initially on phone keypad. Stated they were National Grid calling about a past due. I got suspicious and hung up. I then called the number back and it was answered on the first ring. This NEVER happens when calling Grid's 800 number for customer service! Spoke with a "rep" who then asked for name on account and if I was that person. Got even more suspicious and was transferred to the automated system by request although it never went anywhere - like a black hole. Hung up. Called back number and spoke with a different rep who was claiming they were calling on weekends now to collect on past dues. While my account is 1 month behind I've never experienced anything like this with Grid. Then I googled the 866-876-0525 number and am now entering into this blog here. TOTAL SCAM although I don't know who/what they are trying to accomplish as I did not go through all the "prompts" for info they were attempting to obtain. The last "rep" told me that they would remove my number from any future call list as they must not have the correct number associated with the account. TOTAL BS. Who can I contact to report these people? The call did sound very real with background callers/computers etc.
I called back out of curiosity when they left a message.
When they asked for my date of birth and the last 4 digits of my SS I said I would rather not.
Must be a scam.
