This is fraudulent. Mortgages are public record and that is where they are obtaining your full name from. This is not Charter One or Citizens' regardless of what your Caller ID says. Caller ID's can be manipulated.

866-941-8949 called my house. I feigned being a little kid and they asked for my husband. When I said he wasn't there they said never mind and I hung up. It sounded like an official call center so I called Citizen's Bank after I read about the number here. They were very helpful, and when I got to a knowledgeable person I asked if they were trying to call about our account and asked why no message was left. She confirmed the number was from Citizen's Bank and said it was just a telemarketing call from the bank and to ignore it and not worry about it.

This number keeps calling our house relentlessly from early morning to late night. They keep identifying themselves as Charter One Bank but the caller ID just says "800 service". When you call back the number it sounds like it is somebody's house in the background. I have inquired at Charter One and they know nothing about this supposed company. To test my theory, we have changed our contact information with the bank and this number still keeps calling the original number. That alone tells me that this is a scam!!!

It's awful weird that there was just a news report about a similiar thing involving text messaging and emails trying to phish for more information to steal your identity. BEWARE!!!!

Voicemail identified caller as "Charter One Bank" and asked me (by name) to call back at my earliest convenience.

called number back and was answered by a man saying 'consumer confidence at citizen's bank...may i help you?'

I just got this phone call a few min. ago, and it's bother me since this person called my "middle" name correctly....Rarely, most telemarket callers would not even know my middle name...
