They called me to reach my 1st husband's 2nd wife. We've been divorced 10 years, and they've been divorced 2. WTF?

tthey call me also i look into i actually spoke with elen southern she did sh etold me i owed on a povidian bank card which i did but before i gave any info i asked fo a letter called providian bank and yes i still owed the debt and it was still in stat but providian stated i can pay it thru them for a cheaper price than mrs. southern offered me providian explained the more collection agency it was sent to the more interest i dont get that but if your unsure call the creditor they are talking about to find out before you pay

and they used the summmons thing on me to i think the original employee who called me was mark madison i filed a police report against him he was tryin to get me to wire money directly to him the company didnt even no come to find out he no longer works there his real name is micheal dura

well they go to court today you can stay updaed if you go to newyork state attorney general website

This will sound familiar. They called me trying to collect on a 1,500 B of A card they claimed was 8,000 in penalties and interests. I put the number in a search engine and got here.

pretending to be a law firm saying that I owed $14, 000 to Citi Bank Credit card. Told me if I didn't pay they would have me arrested and put in prison. I immedialtelly contacted a lawyer and she said it sounded like a scam.

This really is getting ridiculous.

They have been calling for over four months, and everytime they say "if you do not contact us within 48 hours, you will recieve a summons from your Sheriff's Dept..."

Then do it already! This is getting out of hand; they call at all hours of the day, and call repeatedly (I don't answer the call). I have been unemployed for four months, and am surviving off of Unemployment and Food Stamps... this really is adding to my stress. I have already filed a complaint against them. Is there anything else I can do? I want these calls to end.

Caller left a message on my in-laws phone stating that she was an investigator and looking for me (using my maiden name from over 10 years ago) and that she has a summons on her desk with my name (maiden name) on it and I must call her office in less than 24 hours and left a case number. I have not used the name she gave in over 10 years. THIS IS A HORRIFIC SCAM!

Recieved a call with "case number" "Need to get a call from you or your lawyer to represent you in Harris county court" " not calling MAY result in summons sent to all addresses on file" We have no outstanding debts as of January. This must be a collection agency calling on an old debt. If you contact them they can re-open file. They also called my husbands EX-WIFE from 15 years ago.

I received a call at my parents residence supposedly from the county sheriff's office with a summons for an unpaid cc. The gentlemen rattled off my ss#, not asking for it from me. I got off the phone, checked my credit report to verify I hadn't had a Citibank Visa. My brother called to tell me they had also called an ex-wife of a family member for me. When I called back, they would not give me pertinent info, threatened me, and when I became compliant, they became nice. I have the entire call recorded. They are very good at what they do, using words like execute the summons, bond to resolve, and bring you in to make me picture death and/or prison. Please be careful.

Said that they needed me to respond within 24 hours or contact my attorney for a court case.

Let it beknown they are trying to collect a debt from over 9 years ago!!!

Contacted my attorney, who in return was hung up on and put on hold twice!! They don't want to here from the lawyer, because they are not taking you to court!!

Caller stated they were seeking the person with my same name but with a different social security # for an unpaid Shell credit card (I have never had a Shell card). They asked that I give them my SSN in order to "clear" myself. I told them I would not do any such thing and assured them I was not who they were seeking (I have resided in the deep south for over 10 yrs and the credit card they were refering to was issued and used on the E. coast in 2001. I am concerned becuase obviously someone has my my name, my home phone #, possibly address, but not my SSN...are these people to be trusted?

Caller left a message saying he was an investigator for a law firm. Caller left a case # and this return 866 number. Caller further stated he needed a return call within 48 hours on an impending court case.
