Total scam. Calls my job every day. Sometimes leaving VMs other times not. I finally called them today and the woman I was directed to asked me for my full Credit Card number. Claimed it wasn't on file and then asked for my full social security number. I made both up and she said it wasn't on file as anything being wrong with my account. She asked if I was sure this was a Capital One credit card and not a different company, then suggested I called the number on the back of the card... I said that doesn't make sense since you left your VM to call you regarding an issue on my account and she hung up.

These people call DAILY and sometimes two/three times a day. I'm on the Federal Do Not Call List, but that is apparently only for law-abiding telemarketers as scammers pay it no heed.


I've reported it several times to the FCC, but again, nothing is done about it.

This problem has been going on since January!

I have the exact same problem as another commenter: "Robocall left on my machine: "Hi this is Linda. We would like to discuss solutions regarding an important business matter with Capital One. Please call us back today at 1-866-953-7906 to discuss it further. Again the number is 1-866-953-7906. Thank you." Contacted capital one and they said if 866-953-7906 isn't on their website contact pages, then it's not a capital one number. Couldn't find 866-953-7906 on capitalone.com so this is a scam call. I think this scam works on you believing you've been called by the real capital one (and you have not), you call 866-953-7906 back (and you should not), they ask you for an account number to look up what the important business matter is all about, then they ask you for personal info to verify that you are the legit owner of the account number you just gave them. Don't fall for it or the scammers will steal your money and possibly your ID."

Called 1-866-953-7908 back. Got Leemore(?). He seemed confused and very nervous. Transferred me to Betty VDI154. They had my information... more than what I initially gave them. I said I didn't trust her due to the number and called Capital One and spoke to a Jeannie with an ID of (IRU...). She said the number is not in their system.

They left five messages and we called back and they wanted our account number and information. We don't have an account with them!

They will not leave me alone I answered and then they hang up on me

Calls multiple times a day.

This number had been calling me everyday every hour, never leaving a voicemail. After googling the number, I found many others have complained about this same number claiming they are capital one, telling people that there is a problem with their account and that they needed more information such as their account and social security number. Many of them said they don't even have a capital one account. I never answered any calls from this number to know for sure, but a day or two after I blocked the number, I received a text saying that my capital one ATM mastercard has been locked. A few minutes later, my husband received the same text. We don't even have a capital one credit card nor debit card account. I assume that this is related to the number I blocked since it happened a day or so later after I blocked it.
