I just received a voicemail from this supposed Jason Parker at 866-978-5843 - very heavy accent, so I called back. His supposed direct line is 202-370-7649. He said that I had unclaimed winnings from American Sweepstakes for $450K and that I had to register with the federal gov. to receive the winnings in order to be taxed appropriately. I asked for American Sweepstakes address and phone number which he rattled off quickly. The phone number that he gave for them was 702-628-9619. I told him I would check it out and call back if this is not a scam. Interestingly enough, when you call the 866 # back, the person who picks up does not have an accent but quickly transfers the call to Jason. Also, I asked for the company he was representing website and he responded that due to scams it no longer is up and running.

Do not give this person any of your information or cash. It is a scam. They call themselves the National Distribution Center, but what they want is money in exchange for a lie, telling you that you won a sweepstakes. They will tell you that you need to pay fees to have it go through customs. I checked with the Washington DC police where the number sometimes originates and they told me to file a police report through our local police. They also use the number 202-370-7649. The person goes by the name of Jason Parker but has a thick accent so I doubt that is his name. Don't be taken! Fortunately I didn't believe them, but the next person might. Do not give them any info.
