Caller ID showed as 000-000-0000 and the male who called had a heavy East Indian accent. He said his name was John Williams and was calling from the "technical department of Microsoft." He said that, over the past 2or 3 days, our computer had been sending "yellow and red" coded messages to their service centre. I pushed for details and he said he was calling from Los Angeles, toll free number 1-866-978-5929, his "employment ID number" is MSWO295. I tried explaining that I'm a systems analyst, working with computers for over 20 years, but he was insistent. I asked that they not call again or I would provide the information he had given me to local police. He threatened to "lock [my] computer" since I was not willing to follow his instructions. Usually telling these idiots that I'm a systems analyst is enough to make them hang up immediately! (Previous calls using this type of scam have been from Justin Bieber and David O'Brien.)
