the guy sounded like a new Yorker and said was from florida power and light. When he called he told me I had 20 minutes to pay before they come turn the power off .I told him I would tell the landlord .Then he tried to get me to tell him the landlords phone number. I laughed and said its the same number you should have on file for the last 15 years.good by..
They just called me and didn't even know the "balance" on my bill. Couldn't tell me what company I have, etc. Fraud
Called saying they are from Avista our local power company when they said I was behind in my payments and my power would be shut off in 30 minutes i hung up. I know I am current on my bill.Foreign sounding decent english said his name was john.
Got a call from this number and the person calling had a strong foreign accent. He said he was with Pacific Power, we're in Oregon and that is our power company. He proceeded to tell me we were behind on our bill and that we need to make payment over the phone or our power would be turned off in 40 minutes. We are a medium sized business and always pay our bills on time. I asked him to fax me a copy of our bill and he said it would "take IT 3 hours to send the fax" but in the meantime we needed to pay so our power was not turned off. Total BS!!
Call is a scam, informed by the PD that they are calling local businesses and residents and posing as the electrical company, demanding immediate payment, and threatening to shut off your power. Disregard the call and report to your PD.
