Scam Calls: Government Impersonators

Robocalls made by scammers who are posing as a government agency, such as the IRS, are referred to as "government scams". The callers try to extract the receivers’ private information in order to steal their money or identity. The most common agency government scams try to pose as is the IRS. They will usually tell you that you are under investigation for tax fraud or are about to be arrested for not paying your taxes. The caller will ask for your social security number and your banking information, as they are trying to steal from you. No matter how convincing the call may be, it is important not to give this information to them. They may know your full legal name and address, but remember no government agency will ask you for this information over the phone in order for you to not be arrested. Other agencies that robocalls try to impersonate are the Social Security Administration, FBI, and Medicare. It is best to just hang up on these scammers if you do ever get a call from them. However, if you do become worried that you are in trouble with the government, you can always look up the number of the real agency, and call them. They will be able to tell you if it was actually them calling you or not.

Its supposed to be a division of Chase's fraud department They called me 3 times and were blocked by every caller.

This number has to be fraud, because i check the address it came from
and it was NOT chase. It came to me in an -e-mail saying my account
was locked, accounts are never locked.

yes they sent me an email and said my account was locked. I went on my account and all was well. I never gave them my info.

Chase sending a code so I can log in. A legit call. That being said callers can spoof numbers so never hand out your personal info to someone calling you :)

This phone number is LEGIT. Erroneously reported as spam/scam. If you don't trust it, ask to be transferred to Fraud Prevention Dept.. Or, call number on the back of your debt/cc card.

Chase online banking number that gives you a code that verifies you as the person accessing your bank account online. Another words it is a legit business number.

Got several calls from this number. They either hang up or leave a partial msg which makes no sense...saying operators are busy, try again and cal back later. They called me! Dumb Ass airheads! I get tired of getting these calls on my cell phone as it eats up my minutes that I have to pay for.

This number (877) 242*7372 is not a spam number, nor a fraud number called by someone trying to steal your information. it is a Chase online banking number that gives you a code that verifies you as the person accessing your bank account online. Another words it is a legit business number.

Caller: Chase online banking, gives you your access code to verify who you are!
