I don’t usually answer unknown numbers but I did this time. They specifically asked for Barbara. Barbara hasn’t had this phone number for the past 10 years. 🤦🏼♀️
I didn’t answer, but before he disconnected, my voicemail recorded him speaking in a foreign language to another individual in what sounded like a boiler room common in scam operations. He called twice before I was able to block the number. I’ll be reporting this to the FCC, but they’re probably in another country spoofing American numbers.
Threatened to mediate and contact my employer. Did not identify company's name.
These people must be stupid. They must be unaware how effortless it is to trace a number, and of how completely they have already been discredited by all the people who have reported their harassments, not only on sites like this but to official agencies. Clearly, whatever this "Midland Credit Management" pretends to be is a fraud and a front for plain old data-harvesting and identity theft, and clearly, anyone who actually responds to these calls and gives them any information has only themselves to blame.
