All they want is your credit card number. If you call and ask to be removed from their list they will hang up on you

I received a text saying I have been chosen to receive a $100 walmart voucher! All I needed to do was give them my addy and answer a few survey questions... He actually told me that was all... Then in the end, he asked for my debit card to charge 4.95 for activation and shipping. (How exactly did I wn something I have to pay for again?? Anyway, I told him I would call him back.. dude got upset and said, "Ok, but I must warn you you may lose out if you do not get on this right away! We may not be here!" ok...what? I asked if I could wait until the card reached me before activation...I mean how many gift cards are activated before they leave the retailer??

Anyways..bottom line, I replied STOP. It was dumb of me to even call back...but I was curious.

I just got my new smart phone and immediately received a text message from this number with the message "WE are giving away a $100 cash rewards card for 5 minutes of your time!..." I did reply to STOP and have not received any more texts from them.

Received the following text at 9:41am on 12.24.2010:

I got the text & then called from my home phone. First they asked for a call back number in case we got disconnected, then my birthdate before the survey. They asked 3 simple questions...Where do you shop the most Wal-mart, Target or Home Depot?, When shopping there do you spend more than $100 a month?, Which do you use most when shopping there a debit or credit card? After that he asked for an address to send the card to & then finally the catch....they wanted a credit card to verify that I was 18+ & needed to charge me a $5.95 activation fee for god knows what. He actually got mad that I wouldn't give him the information & hung up when I said to have a Merry Christmas. :)

I called the number and it is Consumer rewards. I spoke to a live person. They asked some survey questions. 7- 10 days their customer service # 800-705-1247. then they wanted a credit card # to secure the package for $5.95 --- do they think I was born yesterday? I told him I am not giving my credit card # to anyone on the phone and then they hung up. SCAMMERS!!!
