I got the same as mentioned above from the same number. I have no M+T bank account.

Got a call on my cell from the same number on Sunday. 4/19 @1:35pm but I didn't answer since it isn't in my contact list. VM was left from "M&T Bank Protection Dept."about my account having been put on hold. I have no accounts with M&T Bank, mine is with a credit union. The weird thing is that I just met with my CU to have fraudulent charges on my card taken care of just 2 days before, but I know this isn't related to that. This sounds like phishing. You wouldn't get an automated message from your bank asking you to enter your account info over the phone- one of the things you are always told NOT to do to avoid scams.

I did not answer the number because it wasn't on my contact list. got a computerized voice mail. Told me that my M&T bank card had suspicious activity and a hold had been placed on the account and to back 1 877 463 7786 Since I don't have an account with M&T I know for sure its a scam!!

The call was to my cell phone which I do not give out. It also went to a teller's cell phone. Stated my card was on hold and to call. I thought I heard NBT for the bank. I finally hung up

This just happened to me - I do not have any credit cards or loans with them. I got the call on my cell and when hit redial - go the recording...when I tried to call on landline - it said disconnected number - so I know they are hiding a number behind the one which came on the cell. I called M&T Bank on another advertised number to make them aware.

I don't have an M&T account. The only option you have is to enter your card number in order to speak to a customer service person. Scam.

they said my debit account had suspicious activity. i looked up my account online and everything looked completely fine. total scam.

I just received an utomated phone call saying that it was M&T's Fraud Department and to be ready with my 16 digit card number. I don't give ANYONE my number. They should already have that info. I hung up before they had a chance to answer.
