They called my friends, my parents, myself and even my work threatening to serve me papers and take me to court if I didn’t give them the $2000 I owed them. They called me and others up to 15 times a day from an anonymous phone number but left messages with a number to call back and a “claim” number. When I asked him how he could prove that it wasn’t a scam, he said that a scammer wouldn’t have all the information that they did about about where I have lived in the past. They sent me a DocuSign email, saying that if I paid they would try to stop anyone from serving. I looked up the company from the email the sent me and I reported them to the FTC.

Leonardo called me today , well they first called my employer claiming that they were a process server for the county that I live in (which is impersonating a county/court official and is a felony) then he tried to negotiate settling a 13 yr old expired debt!!, yeah he sent me the docusign and gave me till the end of the day to come up with over a thousand dollars or he would proceed and have me served with the complaint...........well I am waiting. If this sounds familiar call your local county court clerk and just ask them . They will confirm if there is a summons out for service on you, which there wont be because a court cannot rule on an expired debt, they are hoping you will cave and sign the docusign document, or just pay up.........if they could get a judgement against you then they probably would have already, but they cant ...all they can do is be scandalously creative and try to scare you into collecting it if you let them..............nice try leonardo.

They Tried It

I also received a call from a Leonardo. Had all my information and everything. They sent me a docusign with no information about the account they needed payment for but wanted my card information. I googled the address and it came up for a UPS Store. They have no website listed for them to be sending summons and all that stuff.

I just received a phone call at work from Leonardo. I was told that I needed to pay on an account from 2009 or I would be summons to court. They were trying to get $1700 from and account that was 9 years old? At first, I was scared and was trying to figure out how to pay it. Thank goodness that I researched the company and number first!!

I am currently dealing with Leonardo, he has been telling me that if I agree to pay a couple of thousand dollars I can stop the proceedings against me.
I have dealt with debt collectors in the past and this guy does not sound like one. I almost went through with it but to many red flags tell me that he is a fraud.

I fell for this and lost $1600, that I had to work very hard to scrounge up. I wish to God I had listened to my brain telling me this just wasn't right. After reading these others accounts, I now know I was screwed. Hard to come up with money like that when you are retired....

These people called my mom and harassed her into giving them my address and said they have papers for me and when we finally got down to the bottom of it they said it was something from 15 years ago and it wasn't even my credit card there is no reports of this on my credit at all and I check it at least once a month. They apparently call and harass everyine until they get what they want from u this is a big scam and they can kiss my butt. They have not even try to contact me at all and they had my recent address . They just want to screw people out of money and I can tell u they ain't getting any from me.

Got a call from Stetson & Parsons Group trying to collect on old credit card. They do have some legitimate information but have concerns as to whether anyone is really filing suit against me. Spoke with Leonardo, supposedly a supervisor. If I settle with them today, they will stop the legal process. Feeling a little pressure to settle this immediately. Something doesn't feel right. The address they have on their payment agreement is a UPS store mailbox per Google and then calling the UPS store to confirm what businesses are in their building. No address comes up if you just google their name. If they are legit, then why not have a true address? Taking a gamble but not going to sign their agreement or send them my bank information.

I received a call today from someone claimibg to be john black. I called with suspicions and at first didn't verify any of my informatio, but gleaned thst a summons was sent to a past address. I called back abd spoke with a man claiming he was Leonardo. I kept askibg if they were fraudulent, thst i had googled them and spam alerts popped up. They were calling about a legitimate debt from 2008. They listed several past addresses and ny currebt one. The summons was sent out in August to an old address, they claim. They offered to see if the payment coukd be reduced abd said they could lower it to 350. I was transferred over to the "hardships" department to make psyment arrangements. Is this truly fraudulent???? They had so much of my information! Thry are based out of California but uf you search their address leegh and associates pops up. Nothing about stetson and parsons group!! Please help! I need to know if anyone else has gone through this!

They called my employer twice and I was told they were very rude. They said they will have someone serve me papers because I am being sued for a credit card. I ran my credit reports and don't see this on any of my reports. Actually, I was only able to get info from two of the three reports because when I answered the security questions I was being asked, I couldn't confirm any of them.

Beware of ANYONE attempting to collect on old debt. Read the law, have it explained to you if necessary. "Time barred" debt reactivates if you make ANY promise to pay in many states. Know the statute of limitations in your state, and if you are beyond this time period, never offer to pay Anything. Tell them to sue you and COUNTERSUE, then contact the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. you are almost guaranteed a judgment IN YOUR FAVOR... Yes I have been to courtt over time barred debt, the judge took 3 minutes to decide on my favor, and no I am not a lawyer, just smart and do my research...
