I rec'd a phone cll this am Oct 28th 2010 informing me if I knew of a Barbara Fowler, that a Julie Stevens, Process Server from the San Diego Sheriffs Department, needed to contact Barbara to serve her a summons, either she is involved in a Criminal or Civil Suit. I informed this Julie Stevens, I was her mother. She gave me a case # 1036-01246, and a phone number of 877-527-9806 to have Barbara call. I called the 877 number and the business is called Global Filing Services

My son googled it, and up came the warning from your department that this was a fraudluant call. I was to call my Sheriff's department and report this as well. I called them but they have not called me back. Is this a bogus call?

This is criminal scam and a fraudulent call. Do not give them any financial information. This is a group out of Atlanta that tries to call relatives of individuals on old collection lists and claims to be associated with your sherriff's office, in an attempt to scare a credit card number out of you. Then your account is drained. Please capture names, numbers, and what they claim and report this to your local police and submit any contact regarding this number to the Georgia State Attorney General's Office - (404) 656-3300

The number constantly calls at both my cell and my work number. The caller obviously has a lot of info about me. When I called back, they simply hung up on me.
