I received a letter with my mortgage amount and the date of my mortgage. There was only ACT at the top of the letter head with no address. This is a scam.

The number I got from my notice from ACT was 1 888 835 5808. The purchase date and $$ amount
were accurate. When I called they wanted 199.00 for doing the audit, and if no money was
rewarded 99 was returned. She (Adrieanna) also stated that several million dollars were found
from other banks, like Bank of America, My reply was --I need to discuss this. No discussion was made, this is a scam--and I feel sorry for anyone who does attempt to do this. Money is tight these days, and everyone wants to make a buck. BEWARE!!

I decided to follow up on a letter I received from ACT about a mortgage Audit. I spoke to Heather Bigelow and she told me all about how my mortgage holder may have overcharged me. I asked her what kind of charges and she told me something that made no sense. She then asked for phone number which I, unfortunately, provided (of course they probably had it since everyone's phone can record that). She then exdplained that I had to pay $149.00 up front which would be reimbursed by ACT or the mortgage holder dependent on the audit findings. I wasn't comfortable with that and stopped the conversation and told her I wanted to research ACT to find out if it was on the up and up. Through reading the above entries from other folks, they apparently are not. Someone mentioned harassing phone calls.....what kind of phone calls?

Audit my Mortgage SCAM! They got my information from Chase and are wanting me to give them my detailed information including Social Security #. I just got my mortgage modified by Chase and there is no refund or modification even in site. I got a 1.6% interest loan for 10 years. Yes 1.6% interest. They are SCAMMERS and since I travel to UT, CO, and many of the other states that they list as addresses I will take my tail over and see them since I am 6'8" and can snap someone in half. Better pack up and move out SCUM.

I received this letter yesterday just opened this morning I realized right away the envelope looked odd.No name It said I may be owed a refund based on city and county records. It had the date of my loan along with the amount.I thought something right away.I called a friend that is a real estste agent she advised if you call do not give them any info. make them give it to you such as account numbers.I did call but they are Mountain time and I am eastern and they wasnt open yet.If it looks and sounds like a scam more than likely it is.So thats when I got on line and found this site. Thanks Alot

I received yesterday a letter informing my son that he may be owed a refund of several thousand USD, based on a city and county records that is loan may have been overcharged or miscalculated for several thousand USD. Is promising a consumer analysis to determine a refund eligibility and interest reduction options with no refinancing required. The toll free # to callis 1-866-259-0031.
What scares me is that they have my son full name and address, the listing # , the ammount he paid for the house and the date on the mortgage. I called and asked if there was a problem whith the mortgage, a nice lady name Trish answerd, asked for 149.00 USD out front ,in case there was norefund they return the money,I sayd "I'll call you back" got this ph.#877-576-5561 ext.5241.
Well I don't think she'll get my call now. Thank you all for taking the time and effort of writing about it.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

Received letter in mail with 866-259-0031 number. Googled and found this sight. Obviously a scam.... straight to the shredder.

The phone number listed on my paper was 866-259-0031 which is not one of the ones listed as belonging to the company on the BBB website. It's possible that a scammer unrelated to AED has hijacked their PO Box number to use as a return address.

I received this same letter and I immediately starting looking for some information online. I have found that this leetter has been sent all over the country and that the phone # keeps changing, I guess after a cycle mailing run they change the number to keep from being detected. Anyhow, with no name or location, and non-letterhead paper is a true sign that this is a scam. I know that we are all looking for way out and a stroke of luck, but please disgard the letter and tell all friends to do the same.

For only $149.00 we can look up your account and save you money! I don't think so. Why does this not surprise me. Please, if you get this letter disregard unless you have that kind of money to throw away. Just make sure you are paying attention to your mortgage contract, it's your home, you should know as much as you can about your contract. That is what loan officers are for, ask them questions.....

I received one of these letters today and immediately saw the red flags a-wavin. Checked this website and realized the general consensus is that this is not leg. I do see though that some people are defending this organization with BBB ratings. Just wondering if any of those people have gotten a refund of the "overcharge or miscalculation" or the $99? If so, please share.

I am in CT and received the same letter. Knew it was a scam from the beginning since my husbands name was not on the letter as well. The mortgage is in both of our names. I am very thankful that this website is here and can not believe people actaully fall for these scams. I will also contact my local news and the attorney general.

I went on BBB.org (Better Business Bureau) and searched the # given on the letter. It is connected to Accelerated Equity & Development, INC. The President and V.P. listed are also with United First Financial and several #'s and email addresses are listed through both companies Both have good rating but the second has mumerous complaints-but solved through the BBB so the rating is higher. It sounds like a group that scams then makes a new company name and # and scam s more to me. I would not trust them, despite the rating.
