I thought this was a scam, but found out a day later that it was some one I lnew that was actually in jail. Making a collect call to me.

This is not spam or a scam to get your credit card info. Someone in a county jail, who knows your phone number, is trying to reach you with a collect call. That means the caller doesn't have the money to use the pay phone at the jail, so they are asking you to accept the phone charges for the call. If you don't think you know who it might be, it is possible the inmate may be just dialing the wrong number.

It's a call from someone locked up. Lists of jails use this service in all states. If you don't know anyone in jail the person is obviously calling the wrong number. But it's not a scam.

Received calls from this company asking me to put 14.99 on my credit card to hear the 10 minute phone call. Message said my cell phone location could be used for investigation. Obviously a scam. Don't pay these people.

It's not a scam. It's from any correctional facility that has a contract with the company. An inmate dialed the wrong number if you don't have a relative or friend in jail or in prison.

If a prisoner calls from a facility, the facility is usually used in the message. There is nothing other than to please give your debit card and then be connected for the 10 minute call.

Received 3 calls this morning and two yesterday, all with the same message of pressing a number in order to accept the call and add the charges to my debit or credit card.

It is someone you know that is trying to call, it's a correctional phone service. I live in kern co. ca, and have this number call from san bernardino, riverside, bakersfield, corcoran, humbult co, the actual service originates from a texas company i think.

They call not stop. I ignore and get a voicemail. Wanting me to do some kind of charge to my call to take the call. Very very annoying. Called 4 times in 20 minutes
