Supposed fraudulent activity on my social security account and they have supposedly close down my social security number. I am supposed to call them back to find out why. This is the standard scam.

877-803-6318 called me on 5-22-2019. The call triggered my voicemail (I wasn't able to answer), but there was no message left by the caller. When I called the number back, I got a recording stating that I had reached the Amarillo, TX Social Security Office, but that they close at noon Central Time on Wednesday. That was my first clue, as I received the call at 1:08PM Central Time. From what I've read, this is a phishing scam.

I hope they call back when I can answer the phone... I love wasting their time and leading them on.

Received a call saying my social security number has been suspended due to unfamiliar activity such as bank accounts and credit cards in my name but once i said i will be going down to the real social security place to handle everything they hung up on me

Said the SS admin was suspending my SS# so I pressed one and told them the SS admin don't call people and they hung up on me...SCAM SCAM SCAM

Yes. I make a practice of never picking up unfamiliar numbers. The voicemail said that they were from the Social Security Administration. Called back, the recording said they were the SSA in Amarillo and that my SSN had been suspended due to peculiar activity. I looked this up online, so this seems to be a known phishing scam.
