Same thing happened to me. I called the Apple store and they said the way to clear this is to hold the SHIFT button while opening Safari at the same time. It cleared the malware off. Once it was clear I cleaned my history and cache.

Thanks!! The shift while opening totally worked...any side affects from this??
I got a pop up on my mac which didn't let me do anything on safari … it said to call "apple support" and it provided me with a number. I was somewhat smart and blocked my number before calling. He asked me to connect my macbook to his computer so he can remove the virus… I hung up when i heard this. He called back.
First off, Apple will not call back. You have to call them back if you accidentally shut the phone. Secondly, knowing this, I asked him how he got my number. He said "you called with this number" I said "NO! I CALLED PRIVATE!.."I immediately hung up and googled Apple Support's Number.
They are scammers, and hackers.. If I had given them access to my laptop, they could have anything and everything they wanted. NEVER CONNECT YOUR LAPTOP… APPLE said they would never do that open the phone!
