I canceled my DirecTv service yesterday because they could not seem to install the dish according to my building's standards. They came on 4 different occasions and got it wrong each time. I somehow still have to pay the early cancellation fee. Anyway, I have received 3 calls today. I answered the last call, but the calling party hung up. At least I know who is calling now.

If they don't stop, I will never use Directv in the future.
I can't stand this kind of garbage.

Cancilled a few days ago and the phone calls are starting to roll in. Now they just call and hang up. Think they have been selling my number because I am now getting calls for security systems, etc. Thanks to this post, I know who the phone number is from ~ 1 (877) 843-0544.........
I have been with Direct TV for years and I don't think my bill stayed the same for more than 3 months at a time. Tried to get HD once but after 2 no-shows and one show and didn't know why he was there, I gave up. Get this, they said they wouldn't bill me for the new contract but they couldn't take it off my account. "That's the way our system works". I was so enraged! I yell'd "...you can put satelites up in the sky but can't fix my account?" Always went out if it even thought of raining. Terrible, terrible company. Got U-Verse now and much happier (so far).

Hmmm ,.. interesting .. I haven't answered but have received a bunch of calls from this number. I also canceled direct tv just before the calls started

I cancelled my account with DirecTV this morning. In the last 25 minutes, my phone has rang three times. In the time it takes me to get the phone to my ear, the calling party has hung up. A few seconds of research showed me that this is a common strategy used by DTV after one cancels an account. After the third call (and my subsequent research), I called the number on my caller ID and told them I'd take strong legal action if I so much as received ONE MORE call of any kind... for any reason from them. I meant it, too. I think my promise worked because I've not heard from them again.
