Survey
they call, let the phone ring 2-3 times and then hang up. I have caller id so do not respond to these calls. it would be nice if they would STOP these calls.
Mediacom calling to do a survey about my recent customer service experience. I called them to disconnect service, they didn't want to take no for an answer and kept offering me other services. The service rep then shot me an attitude and I told her I did not appreciate her snippy-snappy tone with me. She denied having any attitude, but it was very clear she did.
When I was called by the phone number [888-208-8843] twice today, nothing happened after I said "Hello." I did call Mediacom hours earlier with a minor problem they quickly took care of -- but afterward, the Tech Support rep offered me a "special." I refused several times and he kept insisting I make an appointment to add this service ("Only on sale until this weekend!" but Mediacom's been offering it to me for half a year.) He suggested I do this even though I'm not the apartment owner, another fact I told him numerous times. After polite refusal #8, I firmly told him no. Then the nuisance calls began a couple hours later. Thanks to this website's member's posts that the caller was Mediacom, I called Mediacom, explaining the service was harassing me with hang-ups and no chance to respond to opt out. Mediacom was great about it and admitted it was their number, and they immediately opted me out of the calls. My sincere thanks to all here who reported it to be Mediacom, and if you just get hang-ups, as I did, don't hesitate to call Mediacom and politely request removal -- they were very courteous and opted me out right away. Thanks again for everyone's help! :)

They just do that because they get commission for every extra service they sell you and some people really don't get the meaning of no... same thing just happened to me and I said no I have hulu and netflix why do I need tv service... anyways that's a customer service call for a survey if you answer it and hit 7 you won't get calls from them again
Mediacom will phone customers who phoned them, asking the customer to participate in a brief survey.
TO OPT OUT: Wait for the voice to ask if you don't want to participate in future surveys, press "7" and hang up. It won't call again.
