Hey

Yes, got the same exact call in my voice mail too. I had to look it up. Scammers are everywhere. Katie was also the caller.

Same experience, VM seems like a legit place and I was about to connect back before googled and landed to this thread -- Woow, spammers they are evolving...!

They are massively deceptive; the call acted like it was cutoff and lost the 'lead in', and it said we tried to contact you several times about 'your case'... deceptive BS

Auto warranty scam

Called me about my 10-year-old Buick. Called back at the California number on my cellphone. Got a guy who found that "Katie" called me.. After I asked him why I would want such a warranty, he said I didn't have to be rude and he'd put me on a list of 20 telemarketers. Not sure when he hung up after I peppered him with explatives.

I got the same exact call, word for word. Call from "unknown caller," phone number that shows up in my voicemail is way different from the "one-triple 8" number "Katie" gives. I might have fallen for it if I hadn't come to double-check!

I just got the same call/voice mail verbatim...I hate these scam calls. So annoying!

I'm also so glad I found this page! We actually did just buy a new vehicle so I thought it was legit. However, I work in our fraud department and know enough red flags that I googled the number before calling back... My phone rang once and showed up as 'NO CALLER ID' and then the number registered in my voicemail inbox was (351) 222-3365.

I had the EXACT same message. Very passive aggressive tone. I called and told them to take me off the list and she kept saying NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!!! and wouldn't say anything else. I was like, are you gonna keep calling forever? And she was like YUP! YUP! So I cussed her and told her to kill herself and hope her fam dies and her mom blows her and some stuff and she hung up. So now I'm sending them PrankDial.coms every day and I will continue doing this for the rest of my life. I also downloaded the RoboKiller app that analyzes calls and sends spam to an interactive prerecording and records it. I have it set on one where the guy keeps saying "Hello? I can't hear you, hold one one second....Hello? Are you on a cell phone...? Hello?" and just wastes a ton of their time. I am now a psychopath...

They also called me and verbally abused me cursed at me and hung up on me. They would not allow me to speak to a supervisor about the treatment that they gave me and the lack of professional service. You would think in this country and in this day and age, there would be a way to find these people and shut them down.

I got that same message today, word for word. People are disgusting. Trying to prey on the naïve to scam them out of money. I hope no elderly people fall for this nonsense!

What can be done about pieces of poo like this? I actually called back several times and a man answered and asked for the make and model of my car. Told him I didn't have a car and he hung up on me. So I called back and just waited on the open line and heard the mysterious Katie mumbling and clicking on a computer but she wouldn't answer me. I hung up and called again and demanded to know who he was and he hung up. Then after finding this page, I called again and when he answered, I said "You people are pieces of sh*t, with your scam calls. Who do you think you are?" to which he laughed heartily and said, "Thanks for the information." and hung up on me. And yes, I called again, because by now I was furious that people like this exist...and for what reason? But I was immediately put on hold with some piano music the first time, second time, hold music, third time...same man answered, "Wrong number" and hung up. Why do people do this?

Yep, got exactly the same message, word for word, as Amanda. Call came through as a missed call from one area code (and my phone did NOT actually ring - had it next to me at the time), voice mail registering a completely different area code. Pure garbage. I have no "factory warranty" on my car, as it is almost 10 years old and has over 160,000 miles on it.

I received the same message after getting multiple voicemails about the 'factory warranty' on my car (which has 180k miles on it :) I called back to get taken off of their call list and after I didn't answer any of their questions and repeatedly stated I wanted to be off of their call list they said there was no call list and I got hung up on. So I called back and got hung up on twice more. Scam bs.

I too received call, which rang once & went to voicemail. The message left was of a woman with a very sing-song voice saying her name was Katie & she was calling about the factory warranty on my car. (Which was purchased new in 2009 & now has close to 150,000 miles on it). She goes on to say that she isn't sure why she hasn't heard back from me yet, as "we've" left several messages & sent a few mailers to my home. Then she says that it's important to speak to me today in order to keep my file open, telling me to call her back at "one, triple eight, two one eight, zero eight zero four" even though the call was from 574-319-7588 & indicated on my caller ID as being from Indiana. There were a few "ums" in the message & once even stuttered on a word. The message concludes with, "And I hope we can connect soon. Bye for now!" She sounds so sugary sweet my fillings actually ached having to listen to the message several times in order to write down what she said, word for word. This is such a scam and aggravates me because I am on the national DO NOT CALL registry, and have been for over 15 years!

Exact message was, "Hi there, this is Katie, I am calling regarding the factory warranty on your vehicle. Um, we've actually called you several times and we've also sent out, um, a few mailers to your home. So I'm not quite sure why we haven't heard back from you yet. In any case, it's important that we speak to you today in order to keep your file open. So, please call me at one, triple eight, two one eight, zero eight, zero four. Thank you so much for your ten, attention to this matter and I hope we can connect soon. Bye for now!"

Got the same message from "katie". Called back and told them we don't have a vehicle at the moment. She said, are you sure? haha She then said "ok, we will just have to remove the insurance" and hung up. We did not speak to Katie :-)
