I route some calls to an IVR (phone menu) -- it never rings my phone they are sent directly to be tormented

hello?
4 second pause

hello, who is this?
6 second pause

wait, I don't understand
10 second pause

why are you calling me
8 second pause

hey hold on a sec
19 second pause

ok which line were you I have a few here
12 second pause

I'm not sure
4 second pause

yeah that
6 second pause

wait someone was whispering to me can you repeat that last thing?
5 second pause

no, the thing before that one
6 second pause

yeah yeah
12 second pause

yup
18 second pause

what the F-CK did you just say to me?
6 seconds

that's not what I heard
8 second pause

uh huh
12 second pause

it continues... and increases level of VERBAL ABUSE

they called me

so to ENCOURAGE removal of my number I AUTOMATE WASTING THEIR TIME & MONEY

it goes on and on with longer pauses and LOUD profanity

agents take notes on calls... the more negative feedback they have in THEIR system about MY number

the sooner THEY will VOLUNTARILY STOP calling me

I don't mind paying $0.001/min to automatically abuse them into deleting my number. (forward call to SIP URI, voip service with IVR feature like vitelity, anveo, voipms)

It's waaaaay more effective than being polite

otherwise cite them as being in violation of

+ Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”)

+ Fair Debt Collection Practices Act § 806.
Harassment or Abuse
[15 USC 1692d]

+ Fair Debt Collection Practices Act § 813.
Civil Liability
[15 USC 1692k]

Find an inexpensive lawyer and file a CIVIL ACTION against them for COSTING YOU money on a phone you pay to receive calls

PROMOTING A LOAN THAT I AM SUPPOSEDLY QUALIFIED FOR. I'VE NEVER REQUESTED A LOAN, NOR DO I NEED ONE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND THE CALLER, DUE TO A VERY THICK ACCENT. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE SAYING LOAN DEPARTMENT, FROM WHAT i CAN HEAR FROM THE CALLER.

Info is good
-2

In my opinion, the following... they have called our 2nd line office number a couple of times. They might be spoofing the number, meaning that their computer systems sends out a fake caller ID. They are probably using internet based phone services, not hard wired land lines. Although I don't suggest it, I'm tempted to do it if they call again...
If anyone here actually speaks with someone, you might want to "play along" without giving up any of your info name etc... maybe say something like "I don't know about any loans but let me check my records, and I will call you back, what is your number and where should I mail my payment if I owe anything" Maybe they will give you a legitimate number/address that you can forward to both your state attorney's office and the DOJ/FCC. The downside is that they may call you even more times during the day or night. -LOL-

To those who are trying to bash the President by calling him a "pukebag", he is not responsible for the growing use of spoofing numbers and out of the country collection agencies, that has been happening since the rise of economic problems here and around the world during the Bush administration.... so let us not get into politics/blame. We could get the house/senate to introduce laws that ban any collection agency from using call centers or employees that are out of the country. ... you could probably do it with state state laws too. This would bring back accountability to those companies here in the USA. We could also use a legal technique call "Piercing the corporate veil" which would strip the guilty corporation from it's protection/charter that it has under the state that grant corps and LLc's to exist. The state granted charter protects the personal assets of the individuals that own the Inc or LLC.... basically you can legally go after the assets of the corporation AND the CEO main share holders of the corporation. Striping them of their corporate charter and doing a little jail time would help for local collection agencies..... but out of the country agencies, especially those that are calling to "Phish" for credit card and bank info are probably out right scammers. The technology exists to trace and kill the spoofing computers.... any company using spoofing and hiding their website "Who is" information should be dealt with in the most severe legal way. In the corporate world, you are required to post your information when you are granted your State corporate/LLC charter. Website owners, especially scammer sites, usually rent their domain name through a proxy/Private Registration service that legally hides their real phone number, real mailing address, etc . In other words, in order to get to the scammer's business info, you first have to go to the domain/web name registrar and present a subpena. We need to immediately ban all such services. I don't give a flying F if they have to lay off a few people. The damage scammers and private domain registration services create is worth laying off a few people that run these services. Many companies such as Godadda offer such side services, and even though they tell you to don't even think about using a private registration to transmit spam, violate the law or engage in morally objectionable activities... since the client is paying $$$ to hide his/her real contact information , in my opinion, what makes you think Godadda or other web hosting companies/private domain registration companies are going to turn down the money. There is a conflict of interest. It is my opinion that we should BAN all Domain name private registration and also ban all companies that "sit" on domain names, not creating an actual online business, and just to sell the domain names for high dollar amounts. These companies should also be banned. There should be a maximum number of domain names you can register at any one time.... some of these domain name scammers register hundreds at a time with the sole purpose of sitting on them, not using them, until another person tries to register the same name and finds out that they have to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to get that domain name. This stifles startup businesses and the jobs they can provide.

The internet was paid for by YOU the tax payer... NOT the internet service providers.

Like I said, the above information is based on my opinions.

Have a good day

Huh right Obama. Ya look were he's gotten us. Look people we need to figure something out. They have all my personal information. They probably have yours too. I've been to the police with all their numbers and guess what. I did get a voice message. Telling me I need to be home because the local sheriff is coming to arrest me for a loan I never heard of or received. I've reported this information to the BBB. And no one seems to think it important. Not even the authorities can help. They have our SSN address's phone numbers bank accounts. They are selling our information to identity thrives. And all these calls started happening after the lifelock company. Hmmm what a coincidence.

port your number to voip so you can TAKE CONTROL of your phones

you should be able filter incoming by either caller id number or caller id name, to:
+ disconnect
+ play fake phone disconnected error
+ always busy
+ fake ringing to them no ringing your phone
+ blacklisted announcement
+ code challenge
+ voicemail

a more advanced plan will allow you to auto-forward to people with the coercive force of government to discourage their abuse:

+forward to: THEIR local police station
+forward to: THEIR local FBI office
+forward to: FCC
+forward to: THEIR local newspaper sales

voip suggestions: anveo , voipms , callcentric , vitelity , future9, callwithus

for low call volume pay NO more than $8/mo and pay NO more than $19/mo for high call volume. Get call cost down to $0.99/mo + $0.009/min. Host your own IP-PBX in Amazon's cloud with PBX in a Flash.

pick a voip provider based on reviews if you prefer:
dslreports. com/reviews?pick=voip
pick "voip" from the tech drop down, click go

these are evil/poor choices: vonage, google voice, magic jack -- avoid them all like the plague

if you do nothing to control your phone you deserve tormenting for laziness: simple interweb search would help

These idiots call at least 6 times a day to my cell phone, I have it on vibrate, never leave a message, and they can call from now until 2100 they will never get an answer from me. I am tired of these gd bastards who all seem to have an accent telling people they owe money to a company you never heard of. They try to intimidate people into paying money using the scare tactic. Something has to be done about this situation. There doensn't seem to be a lot being done about this crap. I cannot believe people actually pay thiese nistwits money.
