The Duo app for 2-factor authentication. They're legitimate, but maybe some scammers are faking their caller id.

Called. He said he represented a lender and was trying to collect on a loan. I told him quite adamantly that I did not take out a loan in 2013 and specifically not to the lender he mentioned.

Caller: Supposed Collection Agency. When I tried to call back 5 minutes later, I got a message that the number had been disconnected

called 6 times in 5 minutes. why can't the appropriate govt just contact the carrier and snip the line or the carrier itself do so?
