Pretends Tobe Schwab Fraud Prevention. Known scam number. Google the tel# and see other commentd
Discovered a fraudulent debt charge (Disney+) to my account today. Called Schwab and customer service validated that the charge was fraud and established a fraud case number. Got a call from this number this evening (didn't answer) but no message was left. I think this was probably a legit call following up on my earlier contact with them.
I received a call and text from the same number. I did not call the number they provided and found no fraudulent charge on my online account, so I called the number I have for Schwab and they verified that there was indeed a fraudulent charge which had not gone through because it was obvious it wasn't mine. I haven't used that card in years and the fellow I spoke to was already familiar with the name of whoever made the charge as one who has made other fraudulent charges. How they got the number of my card is still a mystery. So the Fraud Alert was legitimate. I have cut up that card and they are sending me a new one.
I received a voice mail from this number wanting to confirm recent transactions. I have never activated my debit card so thought this odd. Rather than call this number, I called Schwab directly. They determined that there were 2 recent attempts to use my card somehow but because it was not activated, those attempts were declined. I cannot tell whether this number in this thread is legit or not as I did not call it.
This is legit fraud prevention in relation to Schwab. I received a voicemail (I wasn’t going to answer an unknown #)
I called Schwab directly after hearing the voicemail. The charges didn’t appear because Schwab had declined them. Schwab confirmed with me that it was fraud, canceled my card then sent a new one
It is LEGIT. If in doubt because you don’t see charges, call Schwab directly and you will see

What a guy. You claim already know who called you, so you would have no reason to look up the phone number here at a scam/fraud site yet you did anyway.
I got the same message and called Schwab ... the actual Schwab on the back of the card not this scam number and was told I had no problems and this number is well known to them as a fraud.
But by all means if you are determined to give out info because you believe some rando number claiming to be Schwab called you is for real you just go ahead.
