I received the call on my home phone from, 888-280-4331 which is the official Amazon toll free call back number.
The recorded message indicating that there appeared to be some unusual activity on my account, a attempted charge for 1000.00 from some source in El Salvador.
When the call was returned via redial, I was greeted by a robot that started asking for my personal info, I hung up.
I then went online to my account and requested a call back from their official site. The human I spoke with reviewed my account activity without asking for any personal information other than my first name, verified that no call had been given for this concern and that it is a scam.
Afterward I also direct dialed the toll free number from the web site, and was greeted by a human who began to ask for my personal information, I stopped him to explain my reason for calling and he verified with only my Email address, the information from the representative I previously spoke with and acknowledged that call information and no reported account issues, then verified also, it is a scam call, suggesting I should change my password online for security.
This is preying on the fact when you receive this message, you will hit redial seeing the clone caller ID, or if answered you will provide the requested info to verify your account. Shame, shame, shame.

Rec'd a call today also from 888-280-4331 stating that I had a $700 charge from Dallas, TX and they wanted to know what kind of computer I was using. They stated that my account would be put on hold for 24 hrs and that I should not change my password. Went into Amazon and did not see any charges. Changed my password and two step authentification is set. Blocking this # from my phone.

I didn't get a call from this number but received an email saying my Amazon account was frozen due to being hacked and this number was at thebottom of the page and said "If you have any trouble accessing your account, call Customer Service at:

Phishing scam...$700 charge.

they called to ask if I bought a 700 computer...and did I give my info to anyone in Texas. I then asked the to verify if they were really from amazon. They hung up. CAREFUL

they just called me now telling me I have 125 dollars and do I want it , then he kept asking me for my info they had a recording in the bakeground with office noise to make it look like they were in a office this number is a scam they trying to see who they can scam ,,and another thing they sounded indian

called left no message as I missed the call, but the ID came up as Amazon Mobile

A call says they were amazon a charge was made and to go to fite aid and buy gift card i hung up then 2 weeks later same thing didn't answer this time and block but the call from other no. I don't even order from them

Just got my Phishing scam call today. yupp the $700 charged to my account and press 1....Good thing I picked up when my husband did or he would have pressed 1. I told him to hang up and that it was a scam and he did. just so happens I was on the phone with Amazon when the call came in......LOL

Caller ID appeared as AMAZON. I answered, a male Indian answered. Asked me if I had made a $700 computer laptop purchase. I informed him that I did not. He asked to shadow into my computer so he could verify some fraud data. I told him I would not give him access to my computer and he promptly hung up. FRAUD. I did check my Amazon acct and no orders for that had been placed.

Rec'd Robocall 8/23 claiming to be from Amazon, stating that my account had been charged $700. They wanted to confirm that I had made this purchase. Recording said to press 1 for more info, which I did. This was answered by an E. Indian male who repeated the above. I asked what charge was for, and he said for a laptop (after a slight delay of possible uncertainty). I told him I had not made such a purchase. He then said he needed my Amazon log-in info, which I didn't give him. Amazon should have this info. I then told him this call was a scam to obtain my personal info. He started to protest, but I then hung up.

I checked my Amazon account after that and there were no charges like above on it! CID showed phone # and "Amazon."

$750.00 charged to my Amazon Card! I just hung the phone up, it's a B.S. call...

They just called our house, saying someone is charging $700 computer to our acct. They wanted all of my information, good thing my husband doesn't know any of the information!

Yes saying something about someone had charged $700 to our Amazon account.
