calls every day...no one there...want them to stop..

call any time day and night

This number has been calling me now since August, 5 months ! There is no one there when I answer, no message is left on my answer machine. This caller is stalking me but why, who is it ? How can I put a stop to it ? My caller ID only shows a phone number.

Allied Interstate - collection agency. Apparently, whoever had my phone before me didn't change their number with them

They just called my house at 11:30 pm ! I rushed to the phone and at first no one was there. They asked to speak to a family member that was not home and asked for information as to when would be a good time to call. As it was 11:30 at night I asked them what it was about and where they were calling from. They may have said something like "allied interstate", but basically refused to answer any specific questions and repeatedly asked what time would be better to call. They spoke with a strong accent, perhaps Indian, and when I kept asking what it was about without an adequate answer I flipped out on them and they hung up. My caller id said it was 'unavailable" name, but had this number. But I swear when I picked up the phone and checked the number it was an "866" number, not an "888" number.
