Yep, this is a total scammer. The people are trying to confirm your expiration date of the credit card. DO NOT GIVE THIS OUT. I called the bank and they NEVER EVER call people to lower the interest rates!

Seems the telemarketer used the name of Alexander and the ext of 265. They callled me back on a caller ID number of 406-931-3244 and 310-388-6861

I was at home with my mother and she recieved this same call from a Kevin Garcia (who had a strong Indian accent) at Customer Services. The guy gave her the last four digits, but she refused to give him the rest of the card number. She told him that she would call back ans recieved this number with his extension 213 and badge number 200. She proceeded to call her card company and they immediately told her that this was a SCAM and that they will NEVER call to lower an interest rate. (All of that will be done by mail or request.) To have fun, my mom decided to call back this number and they tried to change their story. The lady that answered the phone this time was very defensive and then proceeded to scream at my mom when my mom told her that she had already called her card company and reported them as scammer the lady screamed "oh, boo hoo am I suppose to cry?" Then she said she didn't care and hung up. I guess she will care though when the police show up at her house.

My call was the same as the others. A recorded voice said they can lower my credit card interest rates to 6.9% and asked to press 1 if I am interested. I pressed, a woman picked up. I asked for their call back number which is the number I recorded and the name of their company. I told them I knew this was a scam and that I was going to report them to the FBI.

Pressed and pressed for my credit card numbers and last four of my SSN. Very smooth and convincing but it's fraud. I demanded a callback number, then hung up. I called 701-217-1003 first (the # on my Caller ID) and found that it is not a valid number. I called the number that they provided, which was 800-229-0370, and was sent to a rep who said they are based in Orlando. I asked what their website is and she said they didn't have one because they are a new company. Cha-ching!

Unfortunately, I gave them some information before realizing I was being scammed (which really is not like me!). But the good news is that the card I gave them had not been activated. Therefore, when I called the credit card company to cancel the card, they said there was no risk because nobody can charge to it, not even me.

Be aware -- once you are in their system, they have already pulled credit reports and done a lot of research in order to assume your identity. If they call you, immediately sign up for a credit monitoring service even if you don't give them any information.

TheReceived a phone offer for lowering the interest rate to 6.9% on a VISA and MC account. They asked for last 4 digits of social for the VISA and first 5 digits of the social for the MC which would have given them my social security number - real genius's.

They called wanting my CC info including Exp date. I called my company and they said they are the only company who can lower my rates. Why would they need a 3rd party to lower your rate and why would they. There are new laws on CC companies
http://www.bankrate.com/finance/credit-cards/8-major-benefits-of-new-credit-card-law-2.aspx
They were also rude and persistent.

I received the same call,. and unfortunately I gave some of my information. Then didn't feel good about it as they were too persistent to get more information, more card numbers, etc. I called my credit card company and they confirmed that they would not use a third party to lower interest rates. I canceled my cards but am so not happy about this. They also have a "manager" that calls you back to confirm your lower rate...calling from 805 357 1666 and 310 388 6861.

A recorded voice said they can lower my credit card interest rates to 6.9% and asked to press 1 if I am interested. I pressed, a woman picked up and asked the type of the card and exp date, then my card number. When I told them I am going to call to the bank, they hung up. I had to cancel the number on my credit card.
