I received a voicemail from Mr. Shaw (I guess, hard to understand), just going on about how it is very important that they receive a call back today. I know it's a debt collector but can't they just send a letter to the person they are looking for?
fishing for ss number and dob
I received a call from this number today and i called it back only to be told that DRS client is in the process of filing a 1099C on a debit from 2006. Saying that the IRS will look at the debit as income. Well i went straight to irs.gov and said 1099C can only be filed the same calendar year as the debit took place thus this should of been done back in 2006/2007 by the original creditor not a collection agency that has purchase the account trying to collect. Now in order to stop the process of 1099C i can make arraignments to pay the balance. Being we are slowing approaching the statute of limitation on collection they must of think i'm a fool! Needless to say she hung up on me and said the web site i was getting my information from was wrong.
Called number and of course Mr. Shawl is just a comver name. The number is actually for DRS and it is a collection service. Call it back and take care of business. I definitely can't afford a garnishment.
