Received a call from 888-561-8862 identified as TD Bank, Flor and asking for the last four digits of my social security. I explained that I am not comfortable giving that info out and that I will contact my local bank. After I hung up, I called back, and they gave me a first name and ID number - I said the same thing and while waiting, message was "this is an attempt to collect a debt" but when she spoke to me, it wasn't a debt - first red flag. Then I said I still was not comfortable giving out my info and the woman said look on the back of my card for another number 888-561-8861 - one digit off from initial number. Called the bank, they checked my numerous accounts - nothing flagged on my accounts. The bank manager was going to call the number and find out what it is and if it is a scam which we seriously think it is, she will report it. I explained to Bank Mgr what all the other comments were - thank you all for looking out for us!
Said her name is GRACE RYAN & to call her office immediately! Wages & Banking information has been directly connected to my social security number, but the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT doesn't allow her to leave specific information.
1/31/2017 Called and said I was past due on my Citi Bank card. Wanted full number of that card and full social security number. I told them no way, you should have that on your file. They put me on hold and I hung up. Reported this to the police immediately.
Not a SPAM call. I called the TD main number to verify and they said it was a valid number for their Collections Dept
