I received this call from Jason Ashford, 888-307-8766 to lower my rate with the utility company. He had my name address etc and said that he can lower my utility bill because UI had inadvertently cut off the power to some homes while they were working. He said because of the inconvenience Direct Energy can lower my generation rate to .0779cents. I told him that I have a .079 cents rate and he sais he was only looking out for me. He then switched me to a 3rd party for verification of my first and last name. He called the 3rd party "3rd party" when they answered the phone. The 3rd party asked if my name was correct and if I was the account holder to Eversource...but we have United Illuminating. I told her yes and then she proceeded to ask me if I owned my home or rented it. At that I realized that to change your generation rate the company does not need to know that so I bluntly told her that at that point I was no longer interested in anything that they had and to never call me again. She nor Jason never did. Jason did call back twice when I had to hang up and answer a call at work.
