Doesn't seem likely that the REAL Discover Student Loans would be calling folks on the DNC. However, it DOES sound like something a scammer might do-- getting you to fork over your social security number and other personal information for a loan.

Discover Student Loans will not stop calling you! You both have to call and cancel all the applications that have not turned into loan. Even this is not a sure shot that you will not receive any more calls. Even if you cancel you could start receiving "courtesy calls" after 30 days. Discover really wants your business.
