I just received a call from this number - they left a voicemail message . Said he was from Telus and they were going to disconnect my phone if I didn't call back before Nov 20th . He left a fake reference number too.
Won't be calling anyone back . . . Can't Telus stop this kind of activity ? Doesn't seem right . . .

This is a spoofed number. It is the Telus customer assistance number. Telus never calls customers on this number.
This is being used against customers who cancelled their Optik within 30 days time or who cancelled a Telus account. The fraudsters have an agent inside Telus who provides them the cancellation information. Name, Email etc. The Telus shill then leaves the billing active so that they ex-customer thinks they may owe something. The Fraudster calls through the spoofed Telus number trying to get the victim to pick up. If they snag the victim they claim to be Telus collections and threaten the victims credit rating and try and snag a Credit Card number from the victim in the amount of the purported outstanding bill.
