P.s. We had our tax return stolen this year and this could be part of the same group that are stealing the tax refunds from the IRS F them. Another strange coincidence all of our friends that are Republicans had this happen to them in the same area this year where is the federal investigation of the theft of these tax returns 22 people that we know. !!! Irs could care less.
I was up for some fun, so I called back and got a heavily accented person calling himself Kevin. He said he was with the "legal affairs office", and claimed that this was the fourth time they had talked to me by phone (untrue, of course). I asked what the trouble was, and he said that they needed to talk to me about a serious problem. I said that I understood that, but what was the problem? He said that it had to do with the Treasury Department. I sounded confused, and said that I didn't know what the problem was. He said it was with my income taxes. I expressed surprise, and said, "Oh, really? I would have thought that the IRS would have contacted me directly about that."
He said that his office worked with the IRS. I asked "with, or for"? He said "for." I said, "Oh really, you're with the IRS? Because if you're making statements under false pretense of being an IRS employee, that's kind of serious." He got very flustered and said he'd have to talk to end the call and talk to someone, and probably come to my doorstep and have me arrested. I said, "Oh, really? Have me arrested? When do you think they might be coming to arrest me? I'd like to have my attorney present."
I tried calling the US Attorney's Office in Jacksonville, FL (that's the 904 area code), and a nice lady there told me to call either a fraud hotline (didn't work from my area code) or the Florida Attorney General. Called the Florida Attorney General, and they suggested I call a Treasury Inspector General hotline number, where I was directed to a website (www.tigta.gov) to fill out a complaint form.
The really annoying thing is that I've gotten that call 4 times today. Now when I try to call back the number can't go through. I'll block it through Comcast.
That Wild and Crazy Guy Steve Martin called me too! Said he was with Treasury Dept and I needed to call him back or be prosecuted. If this is real, I would have been served via paper and not by robo-call.
STEVE MARTIN the scam artist called again same old b.s. about fed court ETC.ETC. THIS GUY NEVER GIVES UP ,CAN ONLY THE F.B.I. CAN STOP HIM ????
We have received 3 messages from this number and caller. My mother is 82 years old and has never caused any reason for a call from a Federal Court. Sabrina's prior comment detailed and mentioned everything that was left on my mom's voice message machine.
