My wife and both received the same call. Saying the same thing as discribed above. They asked my name and then hung up. When I called the number back a woman answered saying it was a plumbing company.

Same thing here, told me that my SSN has been disabled due to suspicious activity. It sounded scammy so I told them that until they stop taking taxes out of my paycheck, I don' t believe my SSN has been disabled. Chalk it up to scam.

Yes, call received. SSA does not call anyone. It's a scam!!!!

Anyone get a call from 908-483-8262, with someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration? I just want to know if this is legit or not because they were asking me for my social security number in order to unblock it. I did not give it out, and I don't want to until I can confirm that this is not a scam.
