I don't know this person and his leaving me messages for some problems with IRS

Received call without looking at caller ID I answered the call. It was a man saying "I understand you recently inquired about social security benefits, can you hear me alright?" I said, yes I can and the call ended. I was going to give him enough time to hang himself. I have NOT recently inquired about SS benefits. I have been receiving benefits for over 3 years.
This is a SCAM ... Number is now blocked.
