I couldn't understand what he said his name was, but the fact he said he was with the IRS Tax Fraud department, was immediate red flag. The IRS DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE. EVER. I deal with the IRS on a fairly regular basis. They will NOT call you. You will get a certified letter in the mail if you are being audited. And they never call it "TAX FRAUD". It's an audit. Makes me sick these morons don't get a real job. Last year one was going through the student directory at Virginia Tech, telling kids they owed educational taxes! Luckily my boss's daughter had the presence of mind to tell them to call her dad about it since he pays her tuition. When I overheard him talking to the guy, I told him there was no such thing and it was a scam. As soon as my boss uttered the word "scam", the guy started cursing and threatening to "come kick your ass".
Ya same as everyone else he has called my home office # 3 times, my fiance had text me that I was being investigated for tax fraud, I was pretty sure it was a scam but it did get my interest. When I got home and played the message and the fact he said good luck and that accent, ya, so I googled the # and here we are, yep alot of scumb bags out there!! Isn't google great!
Received the same call as above to my cellphone where they left a message. I then used the MagicJack App (to disguise number) on my iPad to call this Indian or Pakistan sounding dirtball back. After two attempts I reached what sounded like the same voice that left the message. I then started to play along with his scam. When he asked for my name, I made one up. He then asked if I received the call to the same number (that is, the number that MagicJack was displaying), obviously not, but I assured him I did. He then asked me to Waite a minute while he checked his records? When he got back on the phone he said he could not find my record, so I immediately asked him for his address so I could mail him a check. He got pissed-off and told me to "shut my mouth" and then he quickly hung up.
Like others here, I received a call from this number. The gentleman, who as before had a Middle Eastern accent, claimed he was from the IRS Tax Fraud Department and that a petition had been filed against my name (soooo not true!). He stated that it was urgent that either I or my attorney call back immediately or else further action would be taken and he could only wish me "good luck." I took the bait knowing it was bogus and tried to call the number back, but it would not go through. This is harassment, to say the least!
Just got a call from this number stating it was the IRS stating I was being investigated for tax fraud and I should call back and handle it, if not then I will be in trouble. The man's bio e as middle eastern. I looked up this number and got the same info fro. Others who have complained
