Received a call stating that my social security # was involved in criminal activity. I did not call back. The message was a recording.

I have now received three calls from this number, two on my cell phone and one on my work phone! - telling me that there was suspicious activity reported under my Social Security number threatening that I needed to return the call before charges were made. Really??? This was a recorded message and sounded automated.

Rec'd a call regarding my minor child that there are fraud charges and illegal activities happening under y child's SSN. Asian caller and he wanted to verify my daughter's info and said he pulled up on this data but yet wanted her SSN. I told him well if you have this data then you should be able to provide me with her SSN. And then they hung up on me.

Recording caller stated that they are a police officer calling on behalf of the IRS and they are notifying you that your Social Security # has been placed on hold.
