Received voice mail from Citi Bank, Mike Brown, common name foreign person on other end. Stated that my loan was approved.

I received a call from a Peter, said I was approved for a loan for 1000.00. Said yes gave information, Peter stated I have to transfer you to underwriter. James answered the phone, had an accent started to give him money through green dot. Told me IRS needed an amount. Didn't here from them in 2 weeks, until today 1-6-15. Peter called me said James had a car accident so I couldn't talk to him. Said that I had to pay 4,383.00 but that he had talked to his boss and he had spoke to IRS and they would settle for 2,191. If I refued the police dep. would be picking up in 3 hr. I called the BBB they stated that the number didn't register. I had a address and that the address was for a hotel. The BBB had received phone calls from that number. BBB referred me to District Attorney and from there to the LAPD. Called LAPD said I was a victum of fraud. The so called Citi Bank has called me so many times I told them how could they do that to people they even hung up on me. So I have to say they took me for a ride. A ride of 905.00 I am disabled and people like that scare people and take advantage of people. They went as far as calling my bank and wanted information thank god the bank put a frooze my acct. Bank told me that the man had an accent. Take care of what you worked for, don't believe anyone. I feel so violated. I hope everyone can see this message.

I received a call saying my loan was approved for up to $1000. They needed to have 1st months security deposit of $110.00 verified before could issue loan. I did not have the funds so cancelled. I became suspicious when I tried to back-track the phone number. Map location does not show any buildings. They said they were from Citi Bank but no location listed in Sloughouse, Ca. The called said his name was James but clearly he was not American and had a very heavy accent. He was very hard to understand. I would appreciate any information you can provide. I was the victim of a scam about 2 years ago around this time and I don't want it to happen again. Thank you.
