It said I needed to opt into an option to protect my credit card, etc., and it was all part of the federal stimulus package.

It asked for you to select hit number 1 to hear more information. I did not do that because I did not want a tracking device or something to go on. So am not sure if a live human is at the other end after pressing the option. Even if there is you can tell them not to call because you are on the Do Not Call list but if they are like others in the past they just hand up when you tell them not to call and you don't get any further - but they also continue to call back. Very annoying.

Two types of calls. First are offers to reduce the interest rate on my credit cards. When I respond by pressing 1 and tell them to stop calling me, they hang up. I have been receiving these exact calls for months. I did report them earlier. The second is a new kind of call. It says if I will respond to a political poll on the national debt, I will receive a free cruise.

i downloaded the three tones and "we're sorry, you have reached the number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service. if you feel you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and try your call again." -- the number of calls from the total annoying phone calls has dropped (some are persistent but most have stopped).
