The Texas Senior Medicare Patrol has received several complaints about Medicare scam calls from 917-755-7140. The male caller says that he is calling from Medicare to tell the Medicare recipient that s/he is about to receive a “doctor-ordered brace”. THIS IS A SCAM. MEDICARE WILL NEVER CALL YOU. Report these scams to the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov) , Medicare Office of the Inspector General (https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/report-fraud/index.asp) and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org). DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR MEDICARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY IDS. Check your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs). If you see that Medicare has been billed for something that neither you nor your doctor has ordered, report that information immediately to 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-632-4227), and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org).
