The message states it is to get lower credit card rates. When I spoke to a live representative, I asked the name of the company and she stated Account Services.
I asked her then why the recording said Consumer Law and she hung up on me.

consolidate credit card balances. The call makes it sound like the recipient has over due credit card balances. They use "its imperitive we speak to you regarding your credit card balance." I don't have a credit card balance but get these same calls frequently from different numbers.

Claimed to be my credit card company and offered to lower my interest rate. No bank information was provided.

As there was no option to take off of list, I selected option 1 to talk to a rep. I asked the rep to take the number off of the list and her response was "HELL NO! HELL NO! THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!". Then she hung up.
