Suntrust Alert your card starting with 5465 has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 423-284-6709. I forwarded text to Suntrust abuse email and also the FTC. Hopefully, they will put a stop to this activity.

I received a text message at 6:26 pm yesterday from 931-478-6619 that said "SOUTHERN CU ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please call: 423-342-4522. I thought it was strange so I didn't return the text or the call. I'm thinking it is a scam. What can be done?

I just received a text from 931-478-6619 on Dec. 6, 2010 at 7:01 eastern.
Text says:
SOUTHERN CU ALERT:
Your CARD starting with
4353 has been
DEACTIVATED. Please
call: 423-342-4522

I'm curious to call and play joke on them. But afraid I'll still be the one to get bit some how.
I don't have a card with that #. I'm not going to give them the pleasure of calling either # back.

I got a text message from this number that said, "Employee resources cu alert: Card XXXX Deactivated. Please call 931 478 6127". I do not have a credit card with that number. I guess it's a scam.
