614-407-3400 (Columbus, Ohio area code) A woman's voice - automated call - says legal action is pending and I should press 1 for more info. I did - a man answers asking how I want him to direct my call. I asked what agency he is working for and he tells me "fraud division" - I asked fraud division for what agency or company? He hangs up.
Ditto, SCAM, wanted my criminal attorney information for legal proceedings, said he mailed letter, said police had been to my address to deliver info in person since it was confidential, claimed court hearing would be within 24 hours, offered to let me speak to investigating officer.

Another disturbing call from these people. Last year, they were the IRS issuing a warrant for my arrest. Yesterday, they called stating Dept of Legal Affairs. I am at work when they call and of course, they leave messages. Heavy accent barely understandable.
949 269 7235 left a message on my recorder. Hard to understand, thick Indian accent stated he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs. Last year, another of these calls stating IRS with a warrant against my arrest. Crazy !

AS of today 4/2, add another phone number to their scam... 760-+849-4844 is another number they're calling out from.
Same people, this time a woman called & my husband played along for a while then advised we'd be reporting them for IRS/Treasury impersonation. She hung up. We used caller ID to call them back about 1/2 hour later- and it was the same man who called from the 949 # on the 31st. He made a miserable attempt at answering the phone as "Dept. of Legal Affairs, Treasury Dept.", but he too hung up when we advised we'd be turning in this phone number as well. AT&T has confirmed these calls as scams and asks that we report them to: Inspector General of the Treasury Dept. @ 1-800-366-4484 or @ TIGTA.Gov; IRS impersonation scam.
